Person-Centered Health Informatics (PCHI) Research Lab

Description

The overall goal of PCHI is to improve health outcomes among individuals at risk of developing or with chronic diseases through
1) improving the tools and methods used to evaluate and monitor changes in health,
2) implementing and evaluating chronic disease management interventions and programs,
3) and pursuing an integrated knowledge transfer and active collaboration with various stakeholder groups.
PCHI is also active in participating in or initiating and strengthening research partnership and networks at provincial, national, and international levels. Examples include the Canada Patient Reported Outcome Initiative and the Health care in Canada Survey (HCIC). Methods of research used by PCHI include randomized controlled trials, observational studies, qualitative methods, item response theory, structural equation modelling, and knowledge synthesis (scoping and systematic reviews).
